At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 19^th day of June 1866
Present: M^r J H Warman, T M Croome Chairman, T Marling, G H A Beard, F S Thornton, W W Kearsey, S Phipps, C H Fisher, J T Fisher.
Resolved that M^r Harrison of Frocester Court or if he cannot attend some other Engineer to be named by him shall inspect the Railway Bridge at Stonehouse and report how far it is in accordance with the provisions of the Stonehouse and Nailsworth Railway Act taking into consideration the modification permitted by the Sub-Committee and how far such Bridge has tended to prevent boats using the Canal with their usual and accustomed loads from passing freely along the same.
Resolved that it be clearly ascertained for what period the Navigation has been impeded within the meaning of the Act of Parliament by the Stonehouse and Nailsworth Railway C^o and that the fill claim against the said Railway Company be insisted on for the past and future impediment, and that notice be given to the Railway Company to this effect by the Solicitor.
Resolved the a Sub-Committee be appointed to attend to all matters connected with this Bridge, consisting of the following Gentlemen: Mess^rs Croome, Phipps and Beard, any two of whom have power to act.
Resolved that the parties making claims for compensation on account of detention of their vessels at the Railway Bridge be referred to the Stonehouse and Nailsworth Railway Company under the 42^d clause of the Railway Act.
It having been represented by the Surveyor that the Agreement with the Stonehouse and Nailsworth Railway Company relative to the Liebye at Stonehouse has not been properly carried out by that Company, Resolved that M^r Harrison r the other Engineer before referred to inspect the Liebye and report upon it and that the Sub-Committee before appointed attend to this matter also.
Ordered that the next monthly Meeting of the Committee by held on Tuesday the 24^th day of July on board the Company's Boat at 9 o'clock AM to proceed down to survey the Canal.
Captain C H Fisher applied for a new ticket N^o 184 having produced and given up the original ticket and transfer. Ordered that a new Ticket be made out.
