Summary

Messrs. Strachan’s proposal that land rented from late Messrs. Hunt & Co. from canal bridge at Lodgemore to gate at 2s 6d per annum and rent of canal water supplied by pipes to boiler of the mill at 1s per annum to be continued accepted.
Notice to quit to be withdrawn from Mrs Critchley on condition that she gives up beer selling at Lady Day next and attends to her duties as lock keeper and night passer.
Mr Deane removed quantity of stone from railway bridge on canal to Ryeford and Stonehouse liebye. Account requested.
Messrs. Ford removed quantity of dirt from Stonehouse liebye to their wharf at Ryeford. Account requested.
Robt. Gardner drew top paddle of the Pike Lock, Eastington, before two bottom gates were shut. 5s payment to Clerk.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Thursday the 25^th day of October 1866
Present: M^r J H Warman, M^r S Phipps Chairman, F S Thornton, C Hawker, T Marling, J C Hallewell, G H A Beard, J T Fisher.
The various Accounts Books and Vouchers signed by M^r Coley the Auditor and certified to be correct were produced examined and passed.
The Treasurer's book was produced examined and signed.
A Return for Income Tax having been made by our clear at £2428. The Assessment has been made by the Commissioners accordingly.
A Letter was read from Mess^rs Strachan & C^o proposing that the Land rented by the Company from the late Mess^rs Hunt & C^o from the Canal Bridge at Lodgemore to the gate at 2^s/6^d per annum payable at Lady Day and that the rent of the Canal Water supplied by pipes to the Boiler of the Mill and the field at 1^s/ per annum payable at Michaelmas be continued on those terms as heretofore.
Resolved accordingly.
M^rs Critchley having applied to continue her Tenancy of the House rented by her from this Company by her,
Resolved that the notice to quit be withdrawn upon the condition that she declines & gives up Beer selling on Lady day next, and pay attention to her several duties as Lock Keeper & Night Passer.
Ordered that the following Bills be paid:

W Dean having removed a quantity of stone from the Railway Bridge over the Canal to Ryeford & Stonehouse Lye Byre without giving any Account of the same and also Mess^rs Ford having removed a quantity of dirt from Stonehouse Lye Bye to their Wharf at Ryeford without giving any account,
Resolved that out Clerk do write to the respective parties for an account of the cargoes so removed.
Rob^r Gardner having committed an offence against this Company's Act & Bye Laws by drawing the top paddle of the Pike Lock Eastington before the two bottom gates were shut,
Resolved that the Clerk do inform him that proceedings will be taken to enforce the penalties against him for such offence unless within a fortnight he do pay 5^s/ to the Clerk of this Company,
