Summary

Half Yearly General Meeting. Tonnage £1252 7s 5½d. Balance after wages, etc, £1058 7s 11d. Dividend of £4 declared.
The committee having reported the unsuccessful negotiations with the Committee of the Thames & Severn Canal respecting the Badbrook water under their canal. Resolved that although we consider ourselves perfectly justified in the claim we have made on the proprietors of the Thames & Severn Canal, yet rather than enter into any litigation with them on the subject, we accede to their proposal of paying a moiety [liable to pay a contribution] of the expense of conveying the Badbrook water under their canal .Our chairman to communicate this resolution to the chair of their committee.

At a General Half Yearly Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Canal Navigation held at the George Inn in Stroud on Tuesday the 8^th of October 1805
Samuel Wathern Esq^r in the Chair.
The Minutes of the last General Meeting were Read and Confirmed.
The several Books and Accounts were produced respecting the Affairs of the Company as directed by the Act of Parliament and Examined and Confirmed.
It appears by the Accounts that the Sum of £1252..7^s..5½^d has been received for Tonnage from the 9^th of April last to this day, a part of which has been applied towards the payment of Wages and Disbursements & there remains in the Treasurers hands after paying the last Dividend the Sum of £1050..7^s..11^d.
Ordered that a Dividend of £4 on each Share be paid by the Treasurer on the first day of November next and that our Clerk do transmitt Circular Letters to all the Proprietors to inform them they may draw upon the Treasurer or apply to him for payment of the same.
The Committee having reported the unsuccessful negotiation with the Committee of the Thames and Severn Canal respecting taking the Badbrook water under their Canal. Resolved that although We consider ourselves perfectly justified in the Claim we have made on the Proprietors of the Thames and Severn Canal rather than enter into any litigation with them on the subject We will accede to their Proposal of being at a Moiety of the expence of conveying the Badbrook Water under their Canal, and We do request our Chairman to communicate this our Resolution to the Chairman of their Committee.
