Summary

Five openings have been cut in the bank of the lower level of the canal by Anthony Eley, William Saunders, John Lawrance, and George Lawrance on 26 January. Our clerk is to apply to the magistrates at the petty Sessions at the Kings Arms at Stroud tomorrow for warrants against the above persons, and that Mr Burgh, Mr S Wathan, Mr N Wathan, Mr B Grazebrook, Mr J Grazebrook and Mr Jones, or any three of them, be requested to attend the sessions at the Kings Arms at Stroud on Friday 3 March.
John Rose has not paid proper attention to the floodgates at the Bond House and that the floods have done much damage. We severely reprimanded him upon his promise of being very attentive in future.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroud water Navigation held at the Committee room at Walbridge on Wednesday the 15^th Feb^y 1809
Present: Sir Sam^l Wathen, Nath^l Jones, James Tyers, Jos^h Grazebrook, Benj^n Grazebrookm Sam^l Wathen, Rowles Scudamore.

The Companys Servants having reported that five Openings had been cut into the Bank of the Lower level of the Canal by Anthony Eley, Will^m Saunders, John Lawrance, George Lawrance, on the 26^th of January last. Ordered that our Clerk do apply to the Magistrates of the Petty Sessions at the Kings Arms at Stroud to morrow the 16^th Instant for Warrants against the above persons and that the following Gentlemen, or any three of them, be required to attend the Sessions at the Kings Arms in Stroud on Fryday the 3^rd of March. next at 11 o'Clock in the forenoon Viz M^r Burgh, M^r Sam^l Wathen, M^r S Wathen. M^r B Grazebrook, M^r J Grazebrook, M^r Jones.
It having been represented that Jn^o Rose have not paid proper attention to the Flood Gates at the Boat House and that the Floods have done much damage in consequence of such inattention, We have therefore severely reprimanded him upon his promise of being very attentive in future.
Adjourned this Meeting to Monday the 10^th of April next at two o'Clock in the Afternoon at the Committee room at Walbridge.
