Land next to Double Locks, owned by Susannah Hogg, to be leased for 12 years at 3 guineas per acre, as Mrs Hogg says the land has been contaminated by mud and cannot be cultivated for this period of time.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 6^th day of January 1818
Present: The Rev^d J Jones, P H Fisher, Rowles Scudeamore, John Morgan, William Stanton, Henry Eycott.
Read the minutes of the last Meeting.
Examined the Books and Accounts of the Company.
Having taken into consideration the several Letters of M^rs Susannah Hogg respecting a Claim for damages done to ther Land near the double Locks by the laying of the Mud thereon by the Canal Company; Ordered that an offer be made to M^rs Hogg to take and Rent the same Land for the term of Years stated by Her as that within which it would be brought into cultivation from the time of first placing the mud thereon; at the Rent of three Guineas per Acre, fixed by her, as its annual value.
Adjourned this Meeting to Tuesday teh 17^th day of February next.
