Summary

Belated minutes of Committee who surveyed the canal.
New pair of gates to be for Wallbridge Wharf. Carpenter to submit plan.
Weir at Oil Mills near Ebley, Mr Lewis has extended his fence in front of the weir. Right of Company to weir to be preserved.
Swing bridge at Ryeford to be repaired.
After alterations near Ryeford Mills made steps to be taken, including placing meer stones, fixing rent to be paid by Mr King or other means, to preserve right of Company to land and perpetuate evidence thereof.
Reparation of fences of fields on south side of bridge near Stonehouse Cross, dividing fields from road, belong to owners of land on each side of road. Duty of repairing road by Canal Company to bridge alone.
The front and wall of weir near carpenter’s house and dock at Chippenham Platt to be repaired. Foundation of privy there to be underpinned forthwith.
Wing wall to be built on north side of tail of Dock Lock and corner of wing wall of Westfield Bridge to be repaired.
Coping of Bristol Road Bridge to be restored and repaired.

Minutes of he Committee who surveyed the Canal the 13^th of August last, Viz:
Ordered that a New pair of Gates for the entrance of Walbridge Wharf be made & that the Carpenter do submit to the Committee his plan of constructing the same.
The Oil Mills near Ebley
M^r Lewis having inclosed the Waste-water Weir near the Oil Mills belonging to the Canal Company from the towing Path; by continuing His Fence across the _front_ of the Weir; and the Committee having spoken to M^r Lewis on the subject, Ordered that the right of the Canal Company to this Weir be preserved; either by removal of the Fence, or by a cross Fence, or otherwise as he Committee may deem best; & that thy do require the same to be done by M^r Lewis.
Ordered that the swing Bridge at Ryeford be repaired forthwith.
Ordered that the Committee do apply their attention to the alterations made near Ryeford Mills, under the arrangement made between the Committee and M^r King some years ago; and that steps be taken by placing Meer(?) Stones, fixing Rent to be paid by M^r King or by some other means to preserve the right of the Canal Company to the Land there belonging to them, & to perpetuate evidence thereof.
It appears to this Committee that the reparation of the Fences of the Fields on the South side of the Bridge near Stonehouse Cross (dividing the Fields from the Road there) belongs to the owners of the Land on each side of the said Road. And that the duty of repairing the Road there by the Canal Company is limited to the Bridge alone.
Ordered that the Front and Well of the Weir ner the Carpenters House & Dock at Chippenhams Plat be repaired, and that the foundation of the Privy there be underpinned forthwith.
Ordered that a Wing Wall be build (next year) on the North side of the tail of the Dock Lock; and that the corner of the Wing Wall of the Westfield Bridge be repaired.
Ordered that the Coping of the Bristol Road Bridge be restored and repaired.
