At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Friday the 23^rd day of June 1837
Present: M^r P H Fisher, M^r Wyatt, M^r Sam^l Fisher, M^r Wood, M^r Hen^y Beard.
Examined the Books and Accounts of the Company.
Produced to this Committee a letter dated 31^st May 1837 under the hand of Henry Waddy Assist^t Clerk of the Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Company, accepting (on the part of the Committee of that Canal) the permission granted to them by the minute of the last Committee, and announced by our Clerk's letter to them on the 22^nd May last, on the Terms stated in such letter.
M^r George Hawker attended on the part of James George of the City of Bristol Esq^r, Edeard Francis Colston of Weymouth in the County of Dorset and of Shepton Mallet in the County of Somerset Esquire, and Thomas Henry Hele Phipps of Butleigh Court in the parish of Butleigh in the County of Somerset Esquires, and made out their Claim (as Trustees and Executors of the last Will and Testament and Codicis therto, of William Jenkins late of Shepton Mallet in the said County of Somerset Esquire) to Five Shares (numbered 21, 26, 39,174 and 184) in the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation, standing in the mane of the said William Jenkins deceased; - by producing the probate (dated the 28^th day of March 1837, under the Seal of the Prerogative Court of the Archbishop of Canterbury) of the Will of the said William Jenkins, dated the 17^th day of May 1827, and of the four several Codicils thereto, dated respectively the 15^th day of May 1832, the 14^th day of January 1834, the 6^th day of September 1835 and the 8^th day of September 1836 whereby it appeared that the said James George & Edward Francis Colston were named & appointed Executors of the said William Jenkins in and by the said Will, and that the said Thomas Henry Hele Phipps was named and appointed an Executor in and by the Codicil of the fourteenth day of January 1834.
And the claim of the said James George, Edward Francis Colston and Thomas Henry Hele Phipps (as such Trustees and Executors of the said William Jenkins) as aforesaid (to the said Five Shares numbered 21, 26, 39, 174 and 184) in the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation was allowed accordingly.
Ordered that the Committee go down the Canal on a tour of Inspection, the 9^th day of August next - to start from the Walbridge Wharf at 8 o'clock aM
