Mr Martin reported that the Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Co solicitor would write to our solicitor re Walk Bridge.
Mr Sherwood reported that Charles James had promised to pay the rent he owed in quarterly installments.
Mr Sherwood reported that a repair to the face of the wall at Double Lock would cost £3 10s and he recommended putting concrete at the back of the wall. Agreed.
Mr Sherwood produced an estimate and plan for a new swing bridge at the Ocean. Agreed.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Monday the 15th day of September 1845
Present: M^r Jn^o Stanton, Geo Wathen, Will^m Fryer, G H A Beard, Jn^o Holbrow Chairman, Dan^l Watts, Jn^o Gurney, W J Woods, Rich^d Martin.
M^r Martin reported that he had waited on the Committee of the Glocester and Berkeley Canal Company respecting the Walk Bridge, and he was given to understand that a communication would be made by the Solicitor of that Company to our Solicitor.
M^r Sherwood reported that Cha^s James had promised to pay half years rent on Sept 25th Inst, and the remainder by half yearly Sums, every quarter, until the arrears were liquidated.
Ordered that it be left to M^r Sherwood to arrange with him in the best manner he can.
M^r Sherwood reported that he had procured an estimate for putting in proper repair the face of the Wall at the Double Lock which amounted to £3..10..- and that he recommended putting a concrete at the back of the wall, both of which was ordered to be done.
M^r Sherwood having produced an estimate and plan for a New Swing Bridge at the Ocean for costs and Materials.
Ordered that the same be adopted and that the Bridge be immediately put in hand.
