Mr Oliver Sittington, lock keeper at Eastington, pays 10s and the Company pays 10s towards damage sustained through Mr Sittington’s negligence in allowing water to overflow the canal bank onto land belonging to Mr C H Hooper.
Clerk to give Notice to Mr David Dangerfield to quit the Cottage at Framilode by 25 December.
Canal found to be in good order on inspection of the area from Wallbridge to Eastington by Mr Beard, and from Eastington to Framilode by Mr Stanton.

[30] The Clerk reported that the demise of Cottage at Framilode from 29^th inst to Richard Pockett, and also the demise [51] to Mr E^d Stephens of the premises at Dudbridge (in duplicate) had been Sealed by the Company and that the contract [4] for building the new boat for the Company had been signed by the Contractor. [30] Also that his Security to the Company on Share numbered 1999 in the Companys Undertaking had been duly executed by him (the original of which was to be deposited with the original bond of himself and his Father held by Mr Kearsey and a copy of which was to be sent by Mr Kearsey to Mr Kingdom who held the Certificate of the share as Trustee for the Company). And that his Father was about to sign a Memorandum as to his Suretyship as prepared by Mr Kearsey.
[18] The Clerk reported Oliver Sillington, Lock Keeper at Eastington for negligence in allowing the water to overflow the Canal Bank on to Land belonging to C H Hooper Esq near the Meadow Mill at Eastington. Ordered that he pay 10/- and the Company 10/- towards the damage sustained.
[25] The Clerk was directed to give David Dangerfield Notice to quit the Cottage occupied by him at Framilode. Notice toe expire of the 25^th December 1878.
[46] The Chairman inspected the Canal from Wallbridge to Eastington o the 20^th August, and the Chairman and Mr K T Stanton from Eastington to Framilode on the 31^st August, and found the Canal & works in good order.
