Summary

The Thames & Severn Canal Company stated that the terms proposed on the 27 February 1882 were objectionable and declined to place the same before his Committee or call a meeting of Shareholders.
Mr Waddy of the Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Co asked for a reduction in toll charged on bricks and other brick yard goods, and the revised tolls were agreed.
Mr Barnard has not repaired the boundary wall at Dudbridge Wharf and Mr Jefferies had not put in the catchpit at Ebley.
Mr Savage, road surveyor, had written offering £1 p.a. for the use of a portion of Dudbridge Wharf for a stone depot; Clerk to reply that no less charge than £2 p.a. could be made.
Clerk reported that the appeal against Income Tax on the £315 paid for Parliamentary Expenses had been allowed by the Commissioners, subject to reference to the Income Tax Board, as the application was an unusual one..

Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 20^th day of November 1883 @ 3,o,clock pm
Present: Mr E C Little Chairman, Mr H H Mills, Mr C H Hooper, Mr W Davies junr, Mr Jno Howard, Mr G H A Beard, Mr J T Stanton.
[57] The Clerk reported that he has attended a Meeting of the Committee appointed by the representatives of the Allied Navigations at the Canal office in Gloucester on Saturday the 3^rd November 1883 at which Messrs Riddiford, Dixon, Southall and Morten were also present as well as Mr Holland and Mr J H Taunton who represented the Thames and Severn Canal Company.
And that after the question of taking on the Thames and Severn Canal upon some such basis as proposed on the 27^th Febry 1882 had been put before the Meeting, Mr Holland stated that the Terms were objectionable, and that he declined to enter upon any discussion or in its present form place the same before his Committee or call a Meeting of Shareholders.
[38] The Clerk produced a letter he had received from Mr Waddy of the Gloucester & Berkley Canal Co in which he asked for a reduction in toll charged on bricks & other brick yard goods -- whereupon it was agreed and ordered taht the following tolls be now charged (viz) on Ordinary blue Bricks 1/- per 1000
on Coping bricks 4^d per ton "dead weight"
on flooring quarries, tiles, garden edging and other fancy brick yard goods 6^d per ton "dead weight".
All the above named goods to be charged 4^d per ton for delivery beyond Brimscombe.
[29] The Clerk reported that Mr Barnard had not repaired the Boundary wall at Dudbridge wharf.
[54] And that Mr Jefferies had not put in the catch-pit at Ebley according to the agreement he entered into on the 18^th June 1883.
[51] The Clerk produced a letter he had received from Mr Savage Road Surveyor offering £1 per annum for the use of a portion of Dudbridge wharf for a Stone Depot, and he was ordered to write to Mr Savage in reply, that a less charge than £2 per annum could not be made.
[41] The Clerk reported that the appeal made against the Income Tax on the Amount paid for Parliamentary Expenses viz £315 had been allowed by the Commissioners Subject to a reference to the Income Tax Board as the application was an unusual one.
