Mr James Smart of Chalford declined to pay tonnage in full, claiming some drawback. Clerk to apply for full amount.
Mr H Jefferies of Ebley to pay 5s p.a. for use of towing path from Ebley Mill swing bridge to first gate towards Dudbridge.
Mr James Webb of Chalford must pay for repairing damage done by barge Endeavour to a paddle start at Eastington top lock within three months.
Apology from George Powell for tarring barge Ceres on canal at Ryeford.
Erection of stable at Bristol Road Wharf ordered.
Coal taken by Mr James Webb of Chalford from Great Western Railway station at Stroud to Thames and Severn Canal wharf, loaded in a boat and conveyed by canal to his brick yard near the Hope Mill at Brimscombe. Mr Hamilton Miles requested to look at agreement between two companies as to coal traffic between Stroud and Brimscombe.

Present: Mr E C Little Chairman, Mr H H Mills, Mr G H A Beard, Sir W H Marling Bart, Mr A J M Ball, Mr Jas Howard.
[15] Mr James Smart of Chalford having declined to pay his tonnage a/c in full (claiming some drawback) the Clerk was instructed to apply for the full amount of tonnage & that if Smart claimed any drawback he must send in particulars of it.
[31] The Committee determined upon a payment by Mr H Jefferies of Ebley, of 5/ per annum for the use of the towing path from Ebley Mill Swing Bridge to the first gate towards Dudbridge and the Clerk was to inform him of this.
[12] Mr James Webb of Chalford attended the Meeting with reference to the bill charged against him for repairing damage done by his Barge "Endeavour" to a paddle start at Eastington Top Lock, and was told that it must be paid, three months being given for payment.
[12] A letter of apology from George Powell for tarring his Barge "Ceres" on the Canal at Ryeford was read.
[7] The erection of a stable at Bristol Road Wharf was discussed and ordered.
[44] The Clerk reported that coal had been taken by Mr James Webb of Chalford from the GW Rway Station at Stroud to the Thames & Severn Canal wharf and there loaded in a boat and conveyed by Canal to his brick yard near the Hope Mill at Brimscombe upon which Mr Hamilton Mills was requested to look at the agreement made between the two Companies as to the Coal Traffic between Stroud and Brimscombe, and advise at the next Committee Meeting.
