Mr Field charged 9s for cost of man’s time in drawing water to enable his barge, sunk in canal at Stonehouse, to be raised.

Present: Mr E C Little Chairman, Mr C H Hooper, Mr H H Mills, Mr Jno Howard, Sir W H Marling Bart.
The Chairman reported that a Special Meeting of which the Committee generally had received notice was held at the Company's offic on the 6^th inst "To consider the enquiry which was about to be held on the 9^th inst by the Board of Trade respecting the objections to the Schedule of Tolls & charges under the Railway and Canal Traffic Act 1888".
It was resolved that Mr Field should be charged 9/- of the cost of mens time in drawing the water, etc, to enable his Barge which had been sunk in the Canal at Stonehouse to be raised.
The Annual Inspection of the Canal was fixed for Monday the 30^th May instant.
