Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 23^rd day of April 1895 @ 3,o,clock pm
Present: Mr E C Little Chairman, Mr H H Mills Solicitor, MR W^m Davies, Sir W H Marling Bart, Mr W B Hooper, Mr S S Marling, Mr E P Little, Mr W J Stanton.
The various Accounts, Books, and vouchers signed by Mr Dudbridge the Auditor and certified to be correct were produced and passed.
The Treasurer's Book was produced, examined and signed by the Chairman.
Several matters of importance regarding the proposed Thames & Severn Canal Bill having arisen since the last Meeting and in particular as to the prohibtory clause (see latter part of Section 23) inserted at the instance of the GWR Authorities, the Chairman explained the position of affairs with reference to it, and the matter was left in the hands of the Solicitors for the Bill to deal with and if possible to arrange with the G W Railway Co in a manner that would be acceptable to the County Council and the Landowners who had petitioned against the Bill.
It was resolved that the names of the 3 Members to represent the Company of Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation as provided in Section 4 of the proposed Bill be the Chairman, Mr Charles Henry Hooper and Mr Walter John Stanton.
Mr Henry Hamilton Mills having expressed his approval of the correspondence respecting the National Telephone Co, he was directed to take the necessary steps for carrying out the proposal.
