Summary

Application by Messrs Bruton & Knowles of Gloucester on behalf of prospective purchaser of the Ryeford Saw Mills as to charge for supply of water from canal.
Late Chairman, Mr E C Little, wished to be relieved of the seat at the Gloucester Harbour Board. Mr C H Hooper nominated in his stead.

Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge Canal Office on Tuesday the 20^th April 1897 @ 3 o'clock pm
Present: Mr C H Hooper Chairman, Sir W H Marling Bart, Mr W Davies, Mr W J Stanton, Mr E P Little, Major Fisher.
The various Accounts, Books and Vouchers signed by Mr Dudbridge the Auditor and certified to be correct were produced and passed.
The Treasurers Book was produced, examined and signed by the Chairman.
The Clerk reported an application by Messrs Bruton & Knowles of Gloucester, on behalf of a prospective purchase of the Ryeford Saw Mills, as to the charge this Company would make for a supply of water from the Canal. The Clerk was directed to suggest an interview, for the purpose of learning particulars more definitely.
The Seal of the Company was affixed to the Agreement with Mr E T Ward as to his renting the Stable, etc, at Dudbridge Wharf.
[Harbour Board] The late Chairman of he Company (Mr E C Little) having expressed his wish to be relieved of the seat at the Gloucester Harbour Board to which he had been nominated on the 19^th August 1890 (see Fo 71) by this Company, the present Chairman Mr C H Hooper, was nominated in his stead.
The Chairman read to the Meeting a Statement prepared by the Solicitor of the Thames and Severn Canal Trust, shewing the present position of the Trust with reference to the Restoration Works, and that, as Estimated by the Consulting Engineer, G W Keeling Esq a further sum of £2,000, is required to complete the undertaking. He further explained the circumstances of the Meeting of the Trust held at Gloucester on the 27^th ult, and the Resolution then unanimously agreed to, as to borrowing that
