Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 25^th day of October 1898 @ 3 o'clock pm
Present: Mr C H Hooper Chairman, Mr H H Mills Solicitor, Mr S S Marling, Mr W Davies, Mr A B Hooper, Sir W H Marling Bart, Mr A J M Ball, Mr W J Stanton.
It was reported by the Clerk that Mr Thomas Clark had not yet done the repairs to the Eastington Wharf Weighbridge, for which he is liable under his recent tenancy and the Clerk was directed to require his immediate attention to the same.
The Chairman read a letter addressed to him that day, by Mr J Butt, desiring to be released of the Agreement of taking Eastington Canal Wharf, and the Solicitor was requested to dictate a reply to be written by the Clerk. The Chairman reported a conversation with the late Tenant Mr Whiting, who desired to renew his tenancy, if Mr Butt should relinquish it. It was left to the Chairman and Mr Mills to deal with the matter, but that in case Mr Whiting's application should be entertained, his rent be guaranteed to the satisfaction of the Committee.
