Summary

Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 21^st day of February 1899 @ 3 o'clock pm
Present: Mr C H Hooper Chairman, Mr H H Mills Solicitor, Mr E P Little, Mr A B Hooper, Sir W H Marling Bart, Mr W Davies, Mr W J Stanton.
The Clerk reported that only trifling damage to the towing paths had resulted from the recent flood at Framilode and Saul, the stop gate at Framilode having stood well and the sea wall showed no sigh of injury. The highest water mark was 19'-7" (Feby 12^th).
The National Telephone Company had promised to pay the £2 for damage to the Withy trees, Fo 248.
A letter from William Clark, the Company's late servant, was read appealing for some consideration of his long service. The matter was postponed until next meeting for further enquiry.
Mr Taylor, tenant of the Company's house at Eastington, on a monthly tenancy, was reported 3 months in arrears, and the Clerk was authorised to give him a months notice.
The Chairman having reported the house at Eastington Wharf, recently repaired by Mr Martin of Stonehouse, and not being satisfied with its condition, Mr Snape was instructed to see it.
Mr E P Little made a suggestion as to an improvement of the Canal Bank next the Gas Works, Stroud, and the Clerk was instructed to examine and report on it to the next Meeting.
