Summary

Charles Critchley agreed to pay Mr Phillips annual charge of 16s for Chalford Water. Immediate connexion. Water in well wholly unfit for use.

Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 20^th day of November 1900 @ 3 o'clock pm
Present: Mr C H Hooper Chairman, Mr A B Hooper, Mr E P Little, Mr W J Stanton, Mr W Davies.
Mr Snape reported having seen Mr Charles Critchley Stonehouse in reference to his water supply, and that he had agreed (in writing) to pay the annual charge of 16/- for the 'Chalford Water' if connected. It was decided to make the connexion at once, and Mr Snape was so instructed, the water in the well being found wholly unfit for use.
The Clerk reported the Agreement with the National Telephone Company for tenancy of the Warehouse at Wallbridge duly signed.
The Chairman reported a correspondence between himself and the Surveyor of the County Council, as to injury done to the Wharf at Dudbridge, by the traction Engine & trucks when hauling out road stone. He read to the Committee Mr Phillip's promise to "see to its repair & put it right and roll it at the finish". He drew attention to the risk of injury to the weighing machine which these heavy vehicles must pass at they enter that yard.
Some complaints by the Captain of the Reliance (the Gas Company's large vessell) having been mentioned, of difficulty in coming up the Canal through accumulations of mud Mr Snae was directed to arrange for one of the Company's foremen to accompany that vessel from the Shallow Lock on her next journey, and to carefully note any points requiring attention.
The Clerk reported the alteration to Messrs Apperly's water tanks, sanctioned on folios 283 & 284, satisfactorily completed.
