Statement of accounts and balance sheet of Thames & Severn Canal recieved.
Courteous letter from Secretary of Royal Commission on Canals and Waterways.
Mr T Ward, son of late Mr E T Ward of Dudbridge, applied to rent space of 60 sq yards on Stonehouse Wharf for his coal trade. Annual rent of 1s per sq yard. Agreed though unlikely that coal trade would come by canal.
Quantity of slag used on County Council main roads brought from iron works in Forest by rail. Chairman requested to communicate with County Chairman, suggesting canal might have share of traffic.
Company tenant, T White, met with accident repairing towpaths 29 October. At first appeared trifling, then involved going to hospital. Unable to work. Payment at Chairman’s discretion. Accident should be reported to Ocean Insurance Co. Company insured under Employers Liability Act.
Louisa Loveday Stanton and Captain Harold James Clifford Stanton claimed share no.73, will of James Thomas Stanton.
[1906 December] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 19^th day of December 1906 @ 4.15pm

Mr Whittingham, Solicitor, in attendance.
[Mr Actons tenancy] With reference to Mr Acton's tenancy of the House at Dudbridge Wharf, Mr Whittingham (Solicitor) stated that he had given him notice to leave on January 25 prox and would arrange with Mr Snape the course to be pursued respecting it.
[Thames & Severn Canal] The Clerk produced Statement of A/c and Balance Sheet of the Thames and Severn Canal for the year ended 30^th September 1906. The amount of tolls received by this Company in respect to through traffic over the Stroudwater Canal to and from the Thames and Severn Canal for the year ending September 1906 will no be ascertained in compliance with sec 43 of the Thames and Severn Canal Trust Act 1895.
[Royal Commission on Canals, etc] The Clerk reported a courteous letter from the Secretary of the 'Royal Commission on Canals & Waterways'. acknowledging with appreciation, the information which had been supplied to them by him.
[Mr Ward land at Stonehouse] Mr F Ward, son of the late Mr E T Ward of Dudbridge, having applied to rent a space of 60 sq yards on Stonehouse Wharf, for his coal trade, for which he was silling to pay the annual Rent of 1^s/ per yard, the Committee acquiesced, on Mr Snape's opinion that it could be spared without detriment to the water traffic, there, though it appeared unlikely his coal would come by canal.
[Slag for (?)] It was mentioned that a quantity of 'Slag' is being used by the County Council Main Roads in the district, being brought from the Iron Works in the Forest by _Rail_.
The Chairman was requested to communicated with the County Chairman, suggesting that if possible, the canal might have at least a share of this traffic.
[F Whites injury (Company servant)] The Clerk reported the case of one of the Company's servants (F White) who had met with an accident, in the course of his work (repairing the towpaths) on October 29, which at first appeared trifling, but had since involved his going to the Hospital, and he is still unable to work. Mr Snape had been paying him, under the circumstances, part of his wages ---hither to, according to the Company's custom--- but he now needed authorisation to do so further. The Committee decided to leave this to the Chairman's discretion in the meanwhile, but directed that the accident should be reported to the 'Ocean Insurance Company' in which the Company are insured against claims under the Employers Liability Act.
[Claim of Share N^o 73] Ferdinand Samford Whittingham of Stroud in the County of Gloucester, Solicitor, attended under the written authority of Louisa Loveday Stanton of 'The Leaze' Eastington near Stonehouse in the County of Gloucester Widow and Captain Harold James Clifford Stanton of N^o 6 Falkland House, Cheriston Gardens, in the County of London, Executors of the Will of James Thomas Stanton of the Leaze Eastington in the County of Gloucester Esquire deceased (who died on the 17^th day of October 1904 at the Leaze aforesaid) and who at the time of his death held one share in the Company of Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation N^o 73 and now standing in the name of the said James Thomas Stanton aforesaid deceased in the Books of the said Company and made out their claim by producing the ticket or title to the said one share and the Probate of the Will (with three codicils thereto) the said Will bearing date the 26^th day of November 1888 and the codicils respectively the 19^th day of July 1892, the 24^th day of January 1904 and the 28^th day of May 1904 and proved by the said Executors in the District Probate Registry of His Majestys High Court of Justice at Gloucester on the 22^nd day of November 1906 and the claim was admitted accordingly and a new ticket of title ordered to be made out on the ticket or title of the said share being delivered up.
