At a Special Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Wednesdat the 21^st Dec^r 1831
Present: M^R Cosham, D^r Darke, M^r Sam^l Fisher, M^r P H Fisher, M^r J C Croome.
The Assignees of Thomas Harper having proposed the following arrangement between them and the Stroudwater Navigation Company viz: That the Company shall appoint some Person to attend Mr Burnaston the Accountant to the Commission and assist in collecting the Debts outstanding for coals sold by the Bankrupt. That the money received shall be daily paid into the Bank of Mess^rs Wattrs & C^o in the joint Names of the Assignees and of some Person to be named by the Company; together with the Sum received by the Company on Sales of Coals given up to them as remaining on Dudbridge Wharf when the Bankrupts was dismissed. - That the Money be drawn from the Bank only by the joint Order of the Depositors and to be subject first to the Dividend payable to the Company in respect of the Debt due from the Bankrupt for Coals delivered to him for Sale. - That the Assignees shall allow the Proof of such Debt and guarantee the same against opposition and the Residue of the Money to abide the order of the Assignees and be payable in respect of the Dividends due to the other Creditors of the Bankrupt. - And as Memorandum in Writing of such Arrangement having been signed by the Assignees.
Ordered that the above Arrangement be agreed to on the Part of the Company and the Memorandum be signed by the Company's Clerk in Testimony thereof.
M^r Cosham having offered to accompany the M^r Burnaston for the above purpose,
Ordered that his offer be accepted and the Money when received shall be deposited in the Bank in the joint Names of M^r Cosham and of George Merret and John George the Assignees of the said Bankrupt.
M^r George Hawker having proposed Adrian Halliday Esquire and Miss Susannah Cook as his Sureties to the Company in the new Bond ordered to be taken from him for the (?) Executed of his Office,
Ordered that such Sureties be accepted and that a Bond be accepted and taken accordingly.
Ordered that no Bills on the Company be discharged by our Clerk till the same have been submitted to and approved by the Committee.
The Clauses submitted by M^r Wiltn, as part of the intended Bill for powers enabling the Glouceser & Berkeley Canal C^o to take water through the Navigation, were read and the alterations and additional Clauses made & prepared by M^r Fisher were read and approved.
