[1939 April] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 19^th day of April 1939 @ 4 o'clock pm
Present: W R Bloxam, Henry R Hooper, J R Morton Ball, G A Evans.
There being only four Members of the Committee present there was no quorum but there being some matters requiring immediate attention it was decided to proceed with them subject to confirmation by the next Committee.
Bank at Bond's Mills at Stonehouse
The Clerk reported that this work was still in hand.
Swing Bridge next Bond's Mill at Stonehouse Fencing
M^r Hooper reported that he had inspected the fencing and the matter could not affect the Canal.
Stroud Gas C^oy, Canal Bank next Bond's Mills at Stonehouse
The Clerk reported that the Manager of the Stroud Gas Company had informed him that the Gas Company were anxious to proceed with relaying the Gas main and his Company had instructed him to enquire what the Navigation was prepared to do in the matter as in the opinion of the Gas C^oy the damage done to the Gas Main was caused by a movement in the bank of the Canal. He had been informed that the matter would be considered by the Committee at their next Meeting. After discussion the Clerk was directed to inform M^r Woodcock that the Navigation was under no liability as there was no warranty.
Canal Association re Water Undertakings Bill and Report
A copy of the Bill & Report were produced and ordered to lie on the table.
Mr Parker's field at Whitminster
The Chairman stated that he had with M^r Hooper met M^r Parker, his Solicitor and Surveyor, on the spot on April 4^th last, and had heard nothing ffom them since. Lock-keeper Pockett reported no water on the field on the 17^th April. The Clerk stated that he visited the place on the 18^th April and found no water on on the field. After discussion it was decided that the Company's Solicitors write reporting this to M^r Parker's Solicitors.
