Summary

Estimates from Mr Woodcock for replacement of Gas Works Bridge were £140 for a 4 ton bridge, £150 for an 8 ton bridge and £170 for a 12 ton bridge.
Stroud Gas Co gave notice of intention to relay gas pipes in canal bank at Stonehouse.
Guttering at Wharf House, Wallbridge, repaired.
Miss Taylor offered to pay £350 for cottage and wharf at Stonehouse.

[1939 Aug] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 16^th day of August 1939 @ 4 o'clock pm
Present: W R Bloxam, Henry R Hooper.
There being only to Members of the Committee present there was no Quorum but there being some matters requiring immediate attention it was decided to proceed with them subject to confirmation by the next Committee.
Stroud Metal Company: Water from the Canal
In accordance with Minute of last Meeting a letter had been written to the Metal Company. No reply had been received.
Ashmore, Benson, Pease & Company, Water from the Canal at Stonehouse
The Clerk stated that he had noting further to report.
Stonehouse Cross Bridge, Repairs of roadway over same
A letter had been sent to the County Surveyor to which he had not replied.
Stonehouse Wharf Garage, Mr Parker
A letter from Mr Parker was read. The Clerk was instructed to see M^r Parker.
Gas Works Bridge, Replacement
The Clerk was instructed to see M^r Woodcock. He reported the estimate costs of replacement of bridge as follows:-
4 ton bridge £140
8 ton bridge £150
12 ton bridge £170.
Office fuel
After discussing the prices quoted, Mr Hooper undertook to see Messrs Wood & Rowe.
Wycliffe College, Bathing and Boating at Stonehouse
The Clerk reported that in accordance with Minute of last Meeting a letter had been sent to Mr Toogood.
Ministry of Transport Defence Act
A letter had been sent to the Ministry and acknowledged.
Stroud Gas Company, Easement at Nutshell Bridge
The Chairman reported that the Agreement as to the pipe at Nutshell Bridge was in hand.
Canal Bank at Stonehouse - Relaying Gas Mains
It was reported that the Stroud Gas Company had given notice of their intention to relay gas pipes in the canal bank at Stonehouse, and it was understood would give notice to the Navigation when the work was to be started.
Wharf House at Wallbridge, Roof Gutters
The Clerk reported that M^r Beard had repaired the roof gutters at an estimated cost of £1..14..6.
Cottage and Wharf at Stonehouse
A letter from Miss Taylor enquiring if the Navigation would consider an offer of £350 for the property was considered, after discussion, the Chairman undertook to settle a reply.
