[1939 Oct] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 18^th day of October 1939 @ 4 o'clock pm
Present: W R Bloxam, G A Evans, Henry R Hooper, R J C Little.
There being only four Members of the Committee present there was no Quorum but there being some matters requiring immediate attention it was decided to proceed with them subject to confirmation by the next Committee.
Ashmore, Benson, Pease & Company. Discharge of Rainwater into the Canal at Stonehouse
Subject to Agreement and plan being supplied the Committee would be prepared to consent on payment of £5 a year rent.
Stonehouse Wharf Garagae: Mr Parker & Mr Hack
A letter from Mr Parker was read. It was reported that the Garage had been let to Mr H S Hack from October 1^st 1939 at 2.6 per week. The rent had been paid.
Gas Works Bridge Replacement
The Gas Company's proposals to carry out certain repair of the present bridge was approved, subject to the Gas Company taking over liabilities to third parties, and future repair of the bridge. The Chairman undertook to settle a letter to the Gars Company.
Stroud Gas Company, Wayleave re Nutshell Bridge
The wayleave Agreement had been completed and was produced.
Stroud Gas Company, Mains at Stonehouse
The Clerk reported that the main had been laid.
Wharf House and Premises at Stonehouse: Miss Taylor
The Clerk reported that he had heard nothing further from Miss Taylor.
West Gloucestershire Power Company, Easement at Stonehouse
The Clerk produced an Agreement for a cable in the Canal near Bond's Mill Bridge at Stonehouse at an annual rent of £2..2..0.
Canal Property at Framilode: Repairs
The Clerk reported that certain repairs had been carried out to the cottage and Lock-house at Framilode, by Mr Blakemore of Longney.
Canal Property at Framilode: Repairs, Cottage occupied by Mr Meadows
The Clerk reported that the grate in the front room was in bad condition, and that the garden gate needed repair. The Clerk was instructed to get an estimate from Mr Blakemore for the grate, and to let Meadows repair the gate which he had offered to do for 10/-.
Stroud Brewery Company, Wallbridge Wharf
The Chairman stated that he had agreed to let the Brewery Company stock coal for £2..0..0 a year and £4..0..0 for right of war over the Wharf.
