[1942 July] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 18^th day of February 1942 : 3 o'clock pm
Present: W R Bloxam, Henry R Hooper, G A Evans, G W Morton Ball.
There being only four Members of the Committee present there was no quorum but there being some matters requiring immediate attention it was decided to proceed with them subject to confirmation by the next Committee.
Gashouse Bridge, Damage, Messrs Mowlem
It was reported that Messrs Mowlem had not replied to the Company's letter of the 26^th January last and that they have taken no action about the repairs to the bridge and towing path bank. The Clerk was directed to try to get in touch with them on the telephone.
Dudbridge Wharf Requisition, Messrs Jackson & Coy
A letter from Messrs Jackson was read and the Chairman undertook to settle a repl. A letter from the Surveyor of the Stroud Urban District Council was read respecting certain matters relating to the Huts they had recently erected on the Wharf. No action was taken.
Saul Bridge, Damage, The South Gloucestershire Internal Drainage Board
The Chairman stated that a letter had been sent to the Board informing them that the Navigation had nothing to add to their letter of the 28^th November last.
Ministry of Works and Bulidings, Petrol pipe at Whitminster
It was understood that the Ministry had commenced the work. The Committee directed the Clerk to ask the Ministry for the promised plan and section showing the pipe line across the Canal [supplied on page 192].
Hoffman Gloucester Ltd, Pipe at Stonehouse
The Chairman reported progress in this matter.
Wallbridge Wharf, M^R Hopson, Trespass
The Clerk reported that no reply had been received to the Navigations letter to the Clerk of the County Council of the 28^h January last.
Canal Association, War Damage
The Chairman read a circular letter from the Association.
Ministry of Works and Buildings, Iron railing
The Clerk reported that the iron guard railing next to the Company's property in the Bath Road at Wallbridge had been removed. A certificate was produced. It was decided that not action be taken.
War Damage Contribution
It was reported that in accordance with the Auditor's request a Cheque for £19..19..6 had been sent to the Collector of Inland Revenue at Gloucester.
