[1942 March] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 18^th day of March 1942 @ 3 o'clock pm
Present: W R Bloxam, Henry R Hooper, G A Evans, R J C Little.
There being only four Members of the Committee present there was no quorum but there being some matters requiring immediate attention it was decided to proceed with them subject to confirmation by the next Committee.
Gashouse Bridge, Messrs Mowlem & Coy, Damage
The Clerk reported that he had telephoned Messrs Mowlem's Office at Frampton Mansell when he was informed, by a man removing the telephone, that Messrs Mowlem had gone away, that a note affixed to the door of the Office stated, refer to Messrs Cross & Hall telephone 47 Frampton Mansell,
Ministry of Works & Buildings: Pile at Whitminster Pound
A plan & section of the line of the pipe produced was approved. [Ernest Ireland Ltd - Public Works Contractor, Lower Bridge Road, Bath].
Hoffman Gloucester Ltd, Pipe at Stonehouse, Draft Agreement
The Chairman explained to the Committee the condition as to stoppage of supply proposed to be set out in the Agreement. The Committee agreed.
Wallbridge Wharf, M^r Hopson's Tenancy, Trespass
The Chairman read a letter from the County Surveyor. After discussion the Clerk was directed to ask for an appointment for M^r Alderton [to meet him on the spot].
Canal Association
The Chairman read a letter from the Association.
Canal, Lockkeeper White
The Clerk reported the death of Lockkeeper White on the 6^th March.
Canal, Eastington, Miss White
The Chairman read a letter from Miss White respecting the occupation of the Lockhouse, after discussion the Clerk was directed to see M^r Beard with a view to the appointment of Christopher Smith as Lockkeeper.
Messrs B J Hooper & Sons, Ebley
An application was put in for permission to place a small boat on the Canal next their works for the purpose of carrying out repairs. The Committee agreed on payment of the usual 10/- licence a year payable in advance.
M^r F W Daniels, Pleasure Boat on Canal at Dudbridge
The Committee had not objection on payment of the usual 10/- licence a year payable in advance, not to include the use of any locks.
