Stonehouse Wharf, Admiralty
A letter from the Admiralty dated the 14^th July and the accompanying forms were discussed. It was decided to await the visit of an Official. The Chairman undertook to settle a letter to be sent to the Admiralty at Bath respecting the provision of a wider roadway for the use of other tenants on the Wharf.
Canal at Ebley, Mr Maslin
The Clerk reported that Mr Maslin had taken out a 10/ licence for this pleasure boat at Ebley Pound, in advance, for one year from the 29^th June 1942. He had withdrawn verbally, his application to take a supply of water by pump and enquired what the Company's charge would be if he took a supply by hand bucket. He had been informed the Company usually mad a charge of 5^s/- a year. Nothing further to report.
Property at Framilode, Water Supply
A letter was read dated the 18^t July from tenants at Framilode asking if their premises could be connected to the public water main. The Clerk was directed to enquire of the Water Company if they will make the connection and if so on what terms.
Wallbridge Wharf House, Side Door
Mr Ball stated that he had inspected the side door of the Wharf House, and that M^r Hopson had been asked for another estimate. The Committee decided that the Clerk should report to the Chairman after inspecting material in stock.
War Damage, Blunder Lock
In accordance with Minute of last Meeting a letter settled by the Chairman had been sent to the Ministry of War Transport. The Chairman read their reply thereto which stated that the position as set out in the Departments letter of the 24^th May 1941 remained unchanged.
Wharf House at Wallbridge, Outbuildings
Mr Ball stated that he had inspected the outbuildings and boundary wall. The boundary wall was in very bad condition, and a new pedestal was required in the lavatory. With reference to the boundary wall it was decided to write to the Cheltenham Brewery Company, the adjoining owners, and the Committee directed that a new pedestal be provided for the lavatory.
Messrs Strachan & Coy, Ventilating Opening in Mill Wall
An application put in by Messrs Strachan & Coy was granted on payment of 1/- a year subject to reinstatement on three months notice.
Claim of Shares, M^r H R Hooper
Henry Robert Hooper of Carbot House, Stroud, in the County of Gloucester, Gentleman, attended as executor, on behalf of himself and Charles Alexander Hooper, of the Will of Arthur Beard Hooper late of S^t Bridgets Alma Road Reigate Surrey who died on the 11^th day of December 1941 and made out their claim to seventeen shares numbered respectively 45, 48, 49, 53, 58, 65, 66, 71, 97, 111, 117, 138, 139, 157, 162, 177 & 180 of the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation Company and now standing in the name of the said Arthur Beard Hooper aforesaid in the Books of the said Company by producing the tickets or titles to the said seventeen shares and the Probate of the Will of the said Arthur Beard Hooper the said Will proved and registered in the Gloucester District Probate Registry and the claim was admitted accordingly and new tickets or titles ordered to be made out on the tickets of titles of the said seventeen shares being delivered up.
