Summary

Further two larch planks ordered.
Tree had fallen across swing bridge at Whitminster and had not been cleared. 25 others were standing on the wing wall of the bridge on the off bank of the canal. Company’s solicitor to communicate with the solicitor of the adjoin landowner, Mr J Teasdale.
Flight Lt. Fox of the RAF to be informed that the usual charge for mooring on the canal between Walk Bridge and the Junction will be 1s per week for each boat. The Company had been receiving 11s. per week mooring fees for the boats previously moored along that stretch before it was taken over by the RAF.
Clerk of Gloucester County Council to be contacted regarding the flow of water from the Thames and Severn into the Navigation. A further letter to be sent to Secretary of the Ministry of Transport regarding stop gate at Framilode.

[1943 April] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 14^th day of April 1943 @ 3 o'clock pm
Present: W R Bloxam, Henry R Hooper, J R Morton Ball, G W Morton Ball, R J C Little, G A Evans.
The Minutes of the last Meeting were read and confirmed.
Swing Bridges: Repairs
The Clerk reported that Mr Hopson had been informed that his estimate of £27..16..0 for timber for Saul Bridge and Shallow Lock Bridge had been accepted at at same time a further order was placed with him for two larch planks each 25'x11"x3" for stock.

Trees at Walk Bridge, Whitminster
The Clerk reported that during a recent gale a tree had fallen across the Swing Bridge at Whitminster and the guard railing had been damaged, The repair of the damaged guard rail was in hand. The tree had not been removed. With reference to this tree and to 25 other trees standing on the wing wall of the bridge and on the off bank of the canal waterway between the bridge and the Canal Junction at Saul, the Committee asked the Companies Solicitors to communicate with Mr R H Penley Solicitor for the adjoining owner Mr J Teesdale.
Canal at Whitminster, RAF
With reference to the taking over the the RAF of the portion of Canal lying between the Walk Bridge and the Junction at Saul and to Flight L^t Fox's call at the Office at Wallbridge on the 10^th April the Committee directed that Flight Lt Fox be informed that the usual charge for moorage in the Canal is 1/- a week for each boat, if he had any alternative suggestion the Committee would be happy to consider it, that the Navigation was receiving 11/- a week from the boats which had now been removed. The Chairman undertook to settle letter.
M^r J R Morton Ball's letter
In accordance with Minute of the 16^th December last Mr J R Morton Ball's letter of the 27^th October 1942 was further considered. After discussion it was decided that a letter be written to the Clerk of Gloucester County Council with a view to coming to some amicable arrangement as to the flow of water from the Thames and Severn Canal into the Navigation & that a letter be written to the Ministry of Transport as to the Stop Gate at Framilode.
