[1944 Oct] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 18^th day of October 1944 @ 3 o.clock pm
Present: W R Bloxam, G A Evans, G W Morton Ball.
There being only three Members of the Committee present there was no quorum but there being some matters requiring immediate attention it was decided to proceed with them subject to confirmation by the next Committee.
Eastington Wharf Gates, Damage, M^r C Beresford
The Chairman reported progress in the matter.
Messrs Marling & Evans, Agreement re pipe across the Canal next the Ebley Mills
The Chairman stated that the draft Agreement had been perused by the Solicitors for Messrs Marling & Evans.
Stroud & District Town Planning Committee, Canal
The Chairman reported his meeting with the Hon Secretary of the planning Committee.
Ryeford Saw Mills Company, Agreement
There was nothing to report.
Eastington Lockhouse, Garden Wall, Damage by United States Army Lorry
There was nothing to report.
Wallbridge Office, Outbuildings, Condition
The Chairman stated that together with M^r Morton Ball he had inspected the outbuilding which were found to be in a very bad condition.
The Clerk was instructed to see M^r Hopson with a view to their repair, and to report to next Meeting of the Committee. M^r Hopson had viewed the outbuildings in question, and he had suggested the removal of the roof and chimney, the back wall raised, front wall repairs, and purlins fixed to carry a roof of asbestos sheeting. The doorway next the Thames & Severn Canal to be built up.
M^r Hopson regretted, owing to adverse circumstances, he had not been able to prepare an estimate for the Committee this afternoon. After discussion the Committee decided to adopt M^r Hopson's proposals, and to await his estimate.
