Summary

Mr Fisher presented copy of Bill enabling Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Co to take water from River Froome. Clause prepared by Messrs Fisher for ceasing rights to take water except through pipes in case Proprietors should desire to use Stroudwater Navigation between Whitminster Lock and crossing of Navigation by Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Co except as a canal, should be introduced to form part of Bill. Essential to interest of Company of Proprietors.
Opinion of a special pleader to be taken as to liability of Company to fence towing paths of Navigation from adjoining lands. Messrs Fisher to prepare same.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Monday the 24^th day of March 1834
Present: M^r Sam^l Fisher, M^r T C Croome, M^r Jos Fisher, M^r F Eycott, M^r Cosham, M^r Croome.
M^r Fisher produced a printed Copy of the Bill now before parliament for enabling the Gloster & Berkeley Canal Company to take Water from the River Froome and it appearing that the Clauses prepared by Mess^rs Fisher for (?) the right of the Gloster & Berkeley Canal Company to take Water supply through pipes in case the Company of Proprietors of this Navigation should desire to use that part of the Stroudwater Navigation lying between the Whitminster Lock and the crossing of this Navigation by the Gloster & Berkeley Canal for any purpose other than a Canal, is not introduced. Resolved that in the opinion of this Meeting the said Clause should be introduced & form part of the said Bill, and that it is essential to the interest of the Company of Proprietors of this Navigation that such Clause should not be omitted from the said Bill.
Resloved that a Case be stated for the opinion of a special Pleader as to the liability of the Company of Proprietors of the Navigation to Fence the Towing Paths of this Navigation from the adjoining Lands, and that Mess^rs Fisher do prepare the same.
