Canal Office, 9th May 1833
Dear Sir
Mr Purnell having stopped the water from running into the Canal from the River Froome and it being reported to me by our Servant that the Whitminster Level has already sunk four Inches; I will therefore thank you to have the Mud taken out of the Whitminster Lock immediately that we may shut the Lock Gates there.
