Summary

Special Meeting. Charles Harrison proposed to dig out and put in a good weather stone wall, 2 feet wide at least, near the Broadwater in the canal [Ocean] near Stonehouse Church Bridge to support towing path for 11s 6d per perch to underside of flagging. To furnish supply and lay down flagging, 80 feet, each stone 2 feet 6 inches high, 10inches deep, to be joined to other stone with two iron dowels at 2s 10d per foot. Whole to be done with clay lime except backing. Accepted.
Solicitors to write to Mr Allan Mason proposing a reference to two gentlemen, one chosen by him, one by Committee, and requesting his decision in 14 days or he pays £20 required.

At a Special Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Wednesday the 4^th day of May 1836
Present: M^r Cosham, M^r J Fisher, D^r Darke, M^r P H Fisher, M^r Sam^l Fisher, M^r Wyatt, M^r Wood.
Charles Harrison having proposed to dig out and put in a good weather Stone Wall two feet wide at the least at a place near the Broadwater in the Canal near Stonehouse Church Bridge to support the Towing path there, for the Sum of Eleven shillings and sixpence per perch to the underside of the flagging; and to furnish supply and lay down flagging of the length of 80 feet more or less (running measure) each stone to be 2 feet 6 inches in face and 10 inches deep, and to be joined to the other stone with two iron dowels, at two shillings and tenpence per foot running measure (the setting of the present flagging or coping Stone to be paid for separately) and the whole to be done with Clay lime (except the backing) -
Ordered that his offer and Estimate be accepted.
Read the minute of the last General Meeting directing this Committee to offer to M^r Allan Mason a reference as to the amount of the Sum to be demanded of him under the minute of the last Committee (therein referred to),
Ordered that our Solicitors Do write to M^r Mason proposing a reference of two gentlemen (one to be chosen by him; and another by our Committee, or the use of Umpire) and requesting his decision in 14 days, - Or that he do pay the £20 required.
