Special Meeting. Representation of Mr Rasher, tenant of farm at Stonehouse belonging to Mr Carruthers. George Basham to make drain along lower side of canal bank at the Ocean near Stonehouse Church to catch water leaking under bank. Drain into brook.
Mr Hawker to write to Messrs Marshall for price per cwt and probably weight of castings for crane at Dudbridge. Guarantee if amount corresponds with order by John Small.
At a Special Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Thursday the 3^rd day of May 1838
Present: M^r Cosham, M^r Sam^l Fisher, M^r P H Fisher, M^r Wyatt, M^r Hughes, M^r Joseph F Fisher.
On the representation of M^r Rasher, Tenant of the Farm at Stonehouse, belonging to M^r Caruthers:-
Ordered that George Basham do make a drain along the lower side of the Bank of the Canal (where necessary) at the place called the Ocean near Stonehouse Church, to catch and receive the Water that leaks through or under the Banks there; and also do make such other Drain or drains, which he shall find requisite for conducting the water from such first mentioned drain, into the Brook there.
Joseph Small having attended and authorized the Company to guarantee, and pay to Mess^rs Marshall & Son of Birminghams for the Castings ordered by the said Joseph Small of them for the intended Crane at Dudbridge,
Ordered that M^r Hawker do write to Mess^rs Marshall & Son for their price per Cwt & probable weight of the several Castings delivered at Dudbridge; - and on Receipt of their Reply do guarantee the amount, if found to be corresponding with the order given by Small.
