Summary

Annual inspection on the Company’s Barge.
Bearer on which end of swing bridge rests when shut to put it level to support Lodgemore Bridge when shut.
Ryeford Bridge upper level wants pointing.
Mud to be dredged opposite Mr Stephen’s coal pen above Ryeford Bridge and near Double Locks.
Bridgeway leading to W Davis’s mill and canal on both sides of bridge to be dredged at Stonehouse.
At the Blunder Lock and Pike Lock roots of poplars on leaze ground have penetrated puddle bank into masonry and entered lasher holes. Gates to be unhung to cut roots.
Complaint by Mr Snowden of manner in which Mr Biddle has used the feeder at Lodgemore, penning up water of his brook to aid his navigation of brook to be considered at next meeting.
Salary of Robert Miles, at the Junction, to be increased by 1 shilling per week.
Messrs Marshall & Son to supply crane for Dudbridge Wharf for £140 and to erect it for £15, similar to Messrs Washburn & Co of Gloucester.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held on Board the Company's Barge on Wednesday the 29^th day of August 1838
Present: M^r P H Fisher, M^r Wyatt, M^r S Fisher, M^r Eycott, M^r G Wathen, M^r Holbrow, M^r Jos Fisher, G H A Beard, M^r Hughes, T C Croome.
The Committee proceeded from Walbridge to Framiloade on a Tour of Inspection.
Lodgemore: To look to the bearer on which the end of the swing Bridge rests, when shut, to put it level, so that it may support the Bridge when shut.
Ryeford Bridge Works: There is a set at the upper End of the Wall there which wants pointing.
And the Mud must be dredged opposite M^r Stephen's Coal Pen, above the bridge here; as also near double Locks.
Stonehouse: The Bridgeway of the Bridge leading to M^r Davis's Mill & the Canal on both sides o fthe Bridge to be dredged & the mud soil silt & stones tp be removed.
At the Blinder lock & the Pike Lock, it appears that the roots of the Poplars planted on the Leaze Ground have penetrated through the puddle bank and into the masonry, and entered the Lasher Holes, & that the gates must be soon unhung & the roots cut off. Ordered that this subject be taken into consideration of the Committee at their next meeting, with a view to what may be necessary to be done respecting the injury occasioned to the Company thereby.
M^r Croome having mentioned a complaint made by M^r Snowden of the manner in which M^r Biddle has used the Feeder at Lodgmore for penning up the water of his brook to aid in his navigation of the brook: Ordered that this subject be taken into consideration of the Committee at the next meeting.
Ordered that the Salary of Robert Miles, at the Junction, be increased one shilling per week, to commence from Monday next inclusive.
Mess^rs Marshall & son having proposed to supply the Crane for Dudbridge Wharf, similar to Mess^rs Washburn & C^o of Gloucester, for the Sum of £140 and to erect it for £15 (the company doing the excavations & brickwork & finding lead), Ordered that they be employed to supply & erect the same with the least possible delay.
