Job Blick’s rent for wet dock at Chippenham Plat reduced to £20 per annum.
House occupied by Thomas Critchley at Bristol Road wharf to be altered by raising roof to make additional room to plan of Philip Perry, carpenter of Whitminster for £25. Mr Critchley to give £8 per annum, £2 increase on present rent.
Inspector Burbidge reported water leaks through G&B Canal locks at Junction and raised water on our lower level above proper height causing injury to adjoining cottages. Small weir to be made on bank of canal near Moor Street Bridge.
Clerk to thank Mr Denyer for letter and book of regulations adopted for T&S Canal.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Wednesday the 15^th day of Oct^r 1839
Present: M^r S Fisher, M^r Hughes, M^r Jos Fisher, M^r Eycott, M^r P H Fisher, M^r Holbrow, M^r Cosham, M^r Wyatt, M^r Beard, M^r Martin.
Examined the Books & Accounts of the Company.
Ordered that the following Bills be paid, viz:

H Harrison: 4..12..7
Ordered that Job Blick's Rent for the Wet Dock at Chippenham Plat be reduced to £20 per Annum from 29^th day of September now last past.
Thomas Cratchley having requested that the Dwelling House occupied by him at Bristol Road Wharf be altered and improved by raising the roof of that part of the House which his on the Upper Whitminster side thereof, to a level with the roof of the other (higher) part of the House, and thereby to make one additional room to the House, according to a plan and estimated made by Philip Perry, Carpenter of Whitminster, which has been approved by M^r Martin;- (the amount of the estimate being about £25) - And Cratchley having offered to give £8.0.0 per Annum for the House, when so repaired, being an increase of £2.0.0 per Ann^0 on the present Rent,
Ordered that such repairs and alterations be made accordingly forthwith, under the direction of M^r Martin; & that the increased Rent commence at Lady Day next.
Our Inspector Burbidge having reported that the water leaks through the Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Locks at the Junction, and raises the water in our lower level above its proper height to the injury of some adjoining Cattages; and suggested the propriety of putting a weir in the bank of he Canal near Moor-Street Bridge, to conduct the superflouse water into the River Froome there;
Ordered that a small weir be made there accordingly without delay.
Ordered that our Clerk to thanks M^r Denyer for his letter & Book of Regulations adopted for the Thames & Severn Canal & say the Committee will take them into Consideration.
