At a General half Yearly Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the George Inn Stroud on Friday the 23^rd day of April 1841
Henry Wyatt Esq in the Chair.
The minutes of the last General Meeting were read and confirmed. The several Books and Accounts of the Company were produced ad directed (by Act of Parliament) and were examined & confirmed.
It appears by the Accounts that the Sum of £3921.2,9 has been received for Tonnage, etc, from the 12^th day of October 1840 to the 12^th day of April 1841 a part of which has been applied towards the payment of Wages, disbursments, etc, and that there remains in the Treasurers Hands (after paying the last Dividend) the Sum of £3243..14..3.
Ordered that a Dividend of sixteen Pounds be paid on each Share by the Treasurer on the first day of May next, and that Our Clerk do transmit circular Letters to all the proprietors to inform them that them may draw upon the Treasurer or apply to Him for payment of the same.
The following Gentlemen are appointed a Committee for the ensuing Year, Viz:
M^r George Wathen, M^R Joh Holbrow, Fred^k Eycott, W^m Cosham, R^d Martin, H^y Wyatt, T C Croome, G H A Beard, John Stanton, Rob^t Hughes, P H Fisher, J F Fisher, S Fisher.
Resolved that an experienced Engineer be employed by the Committee to survey the Works of the Navigation and particularly the mode of supplying the Navigation with Water with a view to ascertain whether any and what plans might be adopted with reference to the existing mode of supply or whether any other and what mode of supplying the same should be adopted and to report to the Committee thereon. And that the Committee do lay the Report and their opinion thereon before the next General Half Yearly or some special general Meeting of the Proprietors and that they do take such Steps as shall be found necessary in relation thereto if any in the mean time.

Resolved That the Resolution of the last general Half yearly Meeting concerning the mode of charging Tonnage on Wheat be rescinded.
Resolved That a Drawback be allowed on the Tonnage of Wheat passing on the Navigation as follows that is to say a Drawback after the rate of £36..13..4 per Cent on all Wheat which shall be brought up the Navigation and into the upper Level and not carried into the Thames and Severn Canal, After the Rate of £33..6..8 per Cent on all Wheat brought up the Navigation into the Ebley Level and not into the short Level at Dudbridge and after the rate of £15.0.0 per Cent on all wheat brought up the Navigation above the five Locks and not up to the double Locks.
