At a Special Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Friday the 15^th of July 1842
Present: M^r Wyatt in the Chair, M^r Geo Wathen, M^r Croome, M^r Beard, M^r Jn^o Fisher, M^r Hughes.
The Solicitor reported that in pursuance of the directions of the Committee in their Resolution of the 10^th day of June last he had written to the Solicitor of the Gloucester & Bristol Railway Company respecting the Drain the Contemplated to make under the Canal at Stonehouse. That in reply to such Letter he had received two Letters from the said Solicitory inclosing a Sketch of their intended drain which they claim'd a right to make without any consent of interference of the Canal Comp^y which Sketch was produced at this meeting together with the Letters that have passed regarding it.
Resolved that M^r Mason be instructed to watch and inspect from time to time the manner in which said drain is constructed and report to this Committee also from time to time any circumstances which may occur to him for the advantages of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation.
Ordered that the following Bills be paid:
To Sam Critchley £10.8.4½ R^d Bushell £3.16.10 Daniel Hoskins £2.14.6 and James Gordon £6.7.6.
