At a Special Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Thursday the 29^th Day of September 1842
Present: M^r Martin, M^r Holbrow, M^r Cosham, M^r Eycott, M^r Croome, M^r Stanton, M^r Wathen.
The Resolutions of the last Committee Meeting were read and also a Letter from M^r Denyer in which he states that the Reduction proposed to be made by the Thames & Severn Canal Company may be virtually considered to be passed.
Resolved that the Drawbacks mentioned in the Resolution of the last Committee meeting be allowed by the Clerk as soon as the Thames and Severn Canal Company commence their reductions and that the Sanction of the next general Meeting be requested to this resolution.
Ordered that the foregoing Resolution be communicated to M^r Denyer and that M^r Hawker and M^r Denyer be requested to consult together as to the best mode of making these Reductions known to the arties interested in them.
It appearing that the Gloucester and Bristol Railway Company are about to make a considerable Diversion of the towing Path at Stonehouse and also a Drain under the Navigation, Ordered that M^r Wathen do communicate thereon with he Solicitors for the Railway Company, and remonstrate against the Inconvenience which will be occasioned to this Company by the mode in which the Works are being constructed & be be prepared to recommend some course for the adoption of the next meeting if he, in connection with the Solicitors of the Railway Company, can agree on a Suggestion.
Ordered that M^r Mason be authorized to treat with M^r Eycott to rent his Gravelpit for the use of the Navigation & towing Path at a Rent of Ten Pounds per Ann and to enter into an Agreement with him for renting it.
