Special Meeting. Petition to House of Commons read and ordered to be sealed. Letter to Capt Berkeley thanking him for presenting Memorial to Board of Admiralty and informing him of petition to be presented to Parliament.
At a Special Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room on Monday the 31st day of March 1845
Present: M^r D Watts, Jn^o Stanton, Geo Wathen, Fred^k Eycott, Jn^o Gurney Chairmand, G H A Beard, Jn^o Holbrow, W^m J Wood.
The Minutes of the several Meetings of the Sub Committee were read and confirmed.
The Petition to the House of Commons was read and agreed upon and ordered to be sealed.
It was agreed to request Capt Berkeley to present the Petition and that a letter be written to him acknowledging the receipts of his Note of 23rd and to ask him to do so.
A Draft of certain clauses was read and agreed to for the protection of the Stroud Canal.
Ordered that the following Letter be written to Capt Berkeley:

I am directed by the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the23rd Ins^t and to thank you for the promptitude you have shown in presenting their Memorial to the Board of Admiralty. The Committee have prepared a Petition to be laid before the House of Commons which had been forwarded to their Parliamentary Agent M^r Gregory of Bedford Row with instructions to communicate with you thereon and they will be glad, if in form, that you will have the kindness to present the same.
