Summary

£50 in full settlement of Company’s claim re state of canal at Lodgemore accepted.
Total of promises for T&S Canal now £548 2s.
£75 requested, remaining portion of contribution due to Gloucestershire County Council towards deficit in Thames & Severn accounts, year ended 30 Sept 1924. Attention to be given to matter as soon as possible.
Mr Smart’s tonnage account for January and February, £29 3s 10d, not paid. Exception to weights charged on cargoes of coal from Staffordshire to Chalford. Weights taken from Worcester and Birmingham canal ticket. Payment requested.
Mr W Mourbey requested permission to fix small gas engine in shed at Dudbridge. If £2 extra rent paid, no objection provided no infringement of clause 4 of agreement, and payment of any extra insurance premium.

[1925 March] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 18^th day of March 1925 @ 3 o'clock pm
Present: Jack Margetson, Henry R Hooper, Edward P Little, R J C Little, F A Little, Gd Evans, S S Marling.
_State of Canal at Lodgemore_
This matter was discussed and it was Resolved that an offer of £50 in full settlement of the Companys claim be accepted.
_Thames & Severn Canal_
It was reported that since the last Meeting of the Committee the Cainscross & Ebley Co-operative Society had promised £3..3..0 per annum for the next two years.
With regard to Mr Whitfield's offer of financial support the Clerk was directed to write to him, that as he had left the amount to the Committee it had put him down for £2..2..0 per annum, for the next two years, which is the period other Traders had agreed to guarantee support.
The total amount of promises was stated to be £548..2..0.
The Chairman announced that subject to the Committees approval he proposed to seek a further interview with the County Council Committee. Agreed.
_Premises at Stonehouse_
Mrs Penn had made payment of amount of rent due from her.
It was decided not to withdraw the Notice to quit which has been sent to her.
_Premises at Wallbridge - Mr Hopson
A letter from Mr Hopson was discussed, and it was decided to amend the amount of rent previously decided on, and to make it £40 a year.
Mr Bloxam undertook to draft a letter for the Clerk to send to Mr Hopson.
_Tonnage Account, Messrs Ward & Son Ltd_
It was reported that Messrs Ward & Son Ltd had paid their Tonnage A/c.
_Thames & Severn Canal_
A letter from the Clerk of the Gloucestershire County Council asking for the payment of the remaining portion (£75) of the contribution due to the Gloucestershire County Council towards the deficit in the accounts of the Thames & Severn Canal for the year ended 30^th September 1924 was discussed and the Clerk was directed to inform the Gloucestershire County Council that attention would be given to the matter at as early a date as possible.
_Tonnage Account, Mr Smart_
It was reported that Mr Smart had not paid his Tonnage account for January & February last amounting to £29..3..10, he had taken exception to the weights charged on cargoes of coal from Staffordshire to Chalford.
The Clerk was directed to write Mr Smart, that, following our usual practice the weights had been taken from the Worcester & Birmingham Canal ticket, and to request his payment of the account as rendered.
_Small shed at Dudbridge_
A letter had been received form M^r W Mourbey asking for the permission of the Committee to his fixing a small gas engine in the above shed.
It was decided that if he would agree to pay extra rent of £2 per annum there would be no objection to his request, providing that there was no infringement of clause 4 of his Agreement, and that he paid any extra insurance premium as per clause 3 of his agreement.
Mr Bloxam undertook to draft a letter for the Clerk to send to M^r Mourbey.
_Flood at Saul_
The Clerk was instructed to inform M^r Harris that the Committee had nothing to add to the conclusion arrived at in their previous letter, which was written after a thorough investigation following a similar complaint.
_Balance a Bank_
The Balance at Lloyds Bank Ltd, Stroud, was £171..6..5 against £212..18..11 last year and £378..7..8 in 1914.
