In view of urgency, permission given for you to take water from the Canal at the Gas Works for nominal charge of 1s.
You were elected a member of the Committee of the Company at the recent meeting.
Charge to be made for use of Company's wharf at Stonehouse from 1 January 1921.

I give you notice that you will be held responsible for any damage to the towing path as a result of the dangerous condition of your wall alongside the Canal.

Asking whether the County Surveyor will reinstate some land which the tenant Mrs Taylor has sublet to them contrary to the Company's agreement with her.
The papers are currently with the auditors. The committee's next meeting is very shortly.

After great consideration the Committee regret they cannot grant the permission.
Your letter of 18th is receiving my attention.
The Committee will donate £5 to the proposed scheme which will help relieve unemployment and be of public utility, but of little use to the canal.

We are aware of the matter, which is in hand, re dredging.
We are reducing the 150% addition to the pre-war tolls to 100%; would your company be prepared to reduce the addition. We feel it would help recover trade lost to the railways, and rebuild the Staffordshire coal trade.
Very busy getting ready for general half yearly meeting, but pleased to see you any time you are passing after end of next fortnight.
Our Chairman thinks it best to await your further letter before informing Mr Smart.
At their next meeting my Committee is looking at the reduction in tolls charged in view of the fact that you have had no stone traffic from the Midlands since 1920. When you see the Canal Commissioners next week please put our views on reducing the tolls in order to retain coal and stone traffic on the Canal

Names of boat owners: Jacob Rice & Son of Gloucester, W Timbrell of Paganhill, Stroud, Mrs Tudor of Whitminster, Mr H Rice of Gloucester, and Mr J Andrews of Saul, suitable boats for delivery of coal.
We are prepared to repair the bridge to carry ordinary traffic, but you would have to pay towards the bridge and its maintenance to carry heavy traffic.
Your boat can't use this canal but can tranship at Saul Junction and I've asked Messrs Ward to contact you.
