Summary

Clerk to ascertain whether Mr Palmer required ordinary tenancy agreement for Stonehouse Wharf House or lease for term of years.

Temporary repair carried out on Gas Works Bridge. Estimates from Messrs Daniels for fabric of new iron bridge. Four ton bridge £175, eight ton £200, twelve ton £225. Cost of replacing present bridge by one to bear similar load £449 5s. Stroud Gas Co’s share £224 12s 6d. If Gas Company require bridge to sustain load of 10 or 12 tons extra cost £249 12s 6d and £274 12 6d.
Mr Wathen complained of smoke escaping to his living room from flue of house next door to his property at Framilode.
In view of notice given by Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Clerk to inspect map of West Gloucestershire Internal Drainage Board in Shire Hall, Gloucester

[1935 Nov 20] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 20^th day of November 1935 @ 4 0'clock pm
Present: W R Bloxam, Henry R Hooper, R J C Little.
Only three Members of the Committee being present there was no quorum but there being some matters requiring immediate attention it was decided to proceed with them subject to confirmation by the next Committee.
Stonehouse Wharf House: Mr Palmer
The Clerk was instructed to ascertain whether Mr Palmer required an ordinary tenancy Agreement with the Company or a lease for a term of years.
Gloucestershire County Council re Widening at Wallbridge
The Chairman read a letter from the County Surveyor dated the 19^th inst stating that a wall will be built as agreed at the interview between the Surveyor and the Chairman.
Stonehouse Wharf: M^r Baker
The Clerk was instructed to obtain more detail of the tanks M^r Baker proposed to put down on the Wharf for the storing of oil.
Gas Works Bridge
The Clerk reported that the temporary repair of this bridge had been carried out. The Committee discussed estimates which had been obtained from Messrs Daniels for the fabric of a new iron bridge, as follows, for a four ton bridge £175 - for an eight ton bridge £200: for a twelve ton bridge £225. The estimated cost of replacing the present bridge with ne to bear a similar load is £449..5..0 of which sum the Stroud Gas C^oy's share would be £224..12..6. If the Gas Company require a stronger bridge, to sustain a load of 10 or 12 tons the estimated extra cost to that Company wil be £249..12..6 and £274..12..6 respectively.
The Clerk was instructed to submit the estimates to the Gas C^oy and enquire if they require a stronger bridge.
Office Typewriter
The Clerk reported that the typewriter had been returned and was satisfactory.
Gloucestershire County Council, re Wallbridge Pound
A letter was read from the Divisional Surveyor.
Property at Framilode
M^r Wathan had complained of smoke escaping to his living room from the flue of the house next door. The Clerk reported that the matter was having his attention.
New Minute Book
The Committee decided that a suitable book be obtained subject to the Chairmans approval.
Land Drainage Act 1930 River Severn Catchment Board West Gloucestershire Internal Drainage Board: In view of Notice given by the Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries the Clerk was instructed to inspect the Map which is deposited at the Shire Hall in Gloucester.
Property at Eastington
The Committee authorised a Cheque to be drawn in favour of the Stroud Water Coy for repairing a service pipe at Eastington, amount £2..2..6.
