Stroud 7th May 1787
We whose names are hereunto subscribed & set being Commissioners nominated and appointed in and by an Act of Parliament passed in the sixteenth year of the reign of His present Majesty for making & maintaining the Stroudwater navigation being met at the George Inn in the town of Stroud aforesaid in persuance of public notice in the Gloucester Journal of the 23d of April last signed by seven commissioners for that purpose
Whereas the sum of One hundred & Thirty One ponds & Twelve shilling is now due & owing from the Company of Proprietors of the said navigation to the successors of the late John Mossley deceased for lands taken to by the said Company for the use of the said navigation agreeable to the valuation of the Commissioners the 6th November 1777,
And Whereas the said John Mossley did by his Will devise the said lands to his grandson John Mossley now of Cainscross in the County of Glocester and his Heirs, refference being had to the said Will, will more fully appear.
For the purpose therefore of securing the said money to the uses mentioned in the said Will.
We do hereby order & direct that the said sum of £131.12 be paid by the said Company into the hands of Mr Jno Colborne of Stroud & Mr Willm Jennings of Cainscross aforesaid in Trust for the said John Mosley and his Heirs to be by the said trustees applied in such manner as by the said Act is directed.
