BYE LAW

Made at a General Meeting of the Proprietors of the
Stroudwater Navigation, held at the George Inn,
Stroud, on Wednesday, the 25th Day of April, 1827,

To compel Masters of Vessels to Muzzle their Horses
used in Towing Vessels,

XII. ORDERED AND ENACTED as a Bye Law, for the
good and orderly using of the said Navigation, That
if any Horse or other Beast used in drawing Vessels,
shall be used or found without being Muzzled; or in
case any such Horse or other Beast shall be found
trespassing upon, grazing or feeding upon any of the
Lands or Grounds, near or adjoining to the Towing
Path of the said Navigation, without permission of
the owner of such Lands or Grounds, the Bargeman,
Waterman, or Boatman, or other Person, belonging
to, going with, or attending such vessel, shall for every
such offence, forfeit any sum not exceeding Five
Pounds.

BYE LAW

Made at a General half-yearly Meeting of the Pro-
prietors of the Stroudwater Navigation, held at the
GEORGE INN, Stroud, the 23rd Day of April, 1828,

To prevent damage to Owners and Occupiers of Land.

XIII. ORDERED AND ENACTED as a Bye Law, for
the good and orderly using of the said Navigation and
preventing damage to the Owners or occupiers of
Land adjoining the Towing Path of the Canal, That
if any person passing through any Gate on the line of
the Towing Path, shall leave the same Gate open by
having propped open the same or otherwise, every
Person so offending shall forfeit and pay any sum not
exceeding the sum of Forty Shillings,
