At a Meeting of the Directors held by Adjournment on the 19^th of January 1775 at the George in Stroud
Present: Will^m Dallaway in the Chair, Robert Ellis, Will^m Knight, Thomas White, Joseph Wathen, George Hawker, James Winchcombe, Rich^d Aldridge, John Hollings, Thomas Baylis.
Read the Minutes of the Last Meeting and approved the same.~~
Read M^r Yeomans Letter in Answer to the Chairmans respecting M^r Sam'l Jones, who not being arrived. that Consideration is therefore postponed.~~~
Resolved that the Locks shall be fix'd at Sixteen feet two Inches and 70 feet Long in the Chamber.~~~
Read the proposals of M^r M Price Timber Merchant of Glocester for furnishing Oak Timber and ordered it to filed for future Consideration.~~~
Read Several other Proposals and ordered them to be filed.~~~
Agreed with M^r Tho's Bartlett Mason of Worcester to Act as foreman of the Masonry at 10/- per Week. Ordered him to go with M^r Hall to the Stone Quarrys at Gatcomb and at Abbey Tintern to Examine them, and to enquire whether a proper Supply can be gott and at what Rate, and when a Barge Load can be gott Ready.
[to enquire for Timber] M^r Hall is likewise to Enquire after Oak Timber.
[to visit M^r Cambridge] Order that the Chairman shall write to M^r Cambridge to Request him to sett a price to his land at per Acre about 5 Acres.
[a Call for money] Resolved that a Call of 5 per Cent be made upon the Subscribers. Payable on or before Tuesday the 7^th of March next to M^r Jn.^o Colborne Treasurer.
[Notice to be given] Order that M^r Grazebrook do give the Proper Notice to the Subscribers agreeable to the Articles and Advertixe the same in the Gloucester Journal.
[Tickets to be provided] Ordered that M^r Jn.^o Colborne do Provide 200 Ticketts or Shares for the Subscribers against the Payment of the said Call.
[to apply to Mr Yates] Ordered that M^r Hall do apply to Dobbin Yate Esq.^r to sett a Price upon his Land.
[to apply to owner Wakefield] Resolved to apply to owner Wakefield to Desire him to attend at Framiload a Committee of y^e Directors to settle the entrance of the River on Thursday the 2^d of February by Nine of Clock in the Morning in order to see the Tide come in.
[Proposalls advertis^d for] Ordered to Advertize for Proposalls to be sent in by Persons that are willing to undertake the Digging and Banking from Framiload to the Gloucester Road.
Adjourn^d the Meeting to Thursday the 2^d of February at 5 o Clock in the Afternoon at the George in Stroud.
