Summary

Special General Meeting
The question was put whether to apply to Parliament to procure further powers for making the Stroudwater Navigable or for a new act for cutting a new canal from Framilode Lock to Wallbridge. Passed unaminously.
Also asked whether the directors should put this plan into action. Passed unanimously.
Signatories noted the amount of new money they would supply. Thomas Baylis and John Gardner £1000 each. Durley Wintle, John Butt and Joseph Wathen pledged £500 each.

At a General Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroud Navigation held by Adjournment & Advertized in the Glocester Journal at the George Inn in Stroud this 24^th Day of August 1775
The Question was putt
Whether it is the Opinion of this Meeting that an Application should be made to Parliament at the next Sessions for an Amendement, and to procure further Powers to the Present Act for making the Stroud Water Navigation or for a New Act if it shall be thought Convenient & necessary to effect it by a New Canal from the Framiload Lock to Walbridge.
It passed Unanimously in the Affirmation.
The 2^d Question
Whether it is the Opinion of this Meeting that the Present Committee of Directors shall be Impowered to carry the preceding Resolution into Execution.
Passed Unanimously in the Affirmative.
