At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 30^th Day of May 1776
Present: John Hollings, Durley Wintle, Thomas Baylis, Benjamin Grazebrook, Robert Ellis, James Winchcombe, Joseph Wathen, Thomas White.
Read the Minutes of the Last Meeting.
Nothing done in Regard to Piling the Lock.
Read a letter from M^r Wright (near Warwick) Offering to Undertake the Cutting of the whole Navigation at a halfpenny per yard under the present Price.
Ordered That the Clerk to write to M^r Wright informing him that it is the WIsh of the Committee to have his Proposals for Surveying the Navigation until Compleated.
Read a Letter from M^r John Glyn Apologising for his not having yet furnished us with Plans, etc.
Ordered That the Clerk do write to inform him that according to our present Plan we are Apprehensive we shall not want them.
Ordered That M^r Grazebrook do measure what Length a Sixteen foot Vessell is, and Report the same at the next Meeting.
Ordered The tail of the Lock to be Piled imediately.
Adjourned this Meeting to Tuesday the 11^th of June next at Eleven o Clock in the forenoon at the new Inn at Framiload.
