The worst of the limestone is to be burnt as soon as possible to see if it will work as lime.
Mr Bough ordered to buy bricks from the brickmakers of Frampton for all he can procure on the best terms he can; also procure a supply of limestone.
Richard Hall offers his quarry on Rodborough Hill for one year at £1 1s.
Mr Gleave to put a stank at top and bottom of Stonehouse level to fill pound so that puddling can be finished.
Mr Beswick to put men on raising the lower end of the island, and the ground opposite it, on the level of the Westfield lock.
Benjamin Pashley to make valve at the swivel bridge near Mr Eycott’s.
At a Meeting of the Committee held by adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 4th day of December 1777
Present: Joseph Wathen, John Hollings, James Winchcombe, Freame Arundell, Robert Ellis, Durley Wintle, Thomas Baylis, Benjamin Grazebrook.

M^r Ellis has not Yet an Opportunity of Meeting M^r Turner to settle the Taxes with M^r Pettat; that he be desired to gett it done by the next Meeting and that M^r Dymock be desired to attend at the same time to finally settle M^r Andrews, and also that our Clerk do bring the particulars of the measure of each piece of Land to be exchanged.
M^r Merrett has measured the Island belonging to Henry Stephens Esq^r, which amounts to one acre, one Rood, and Twenty Nine perch.
M^r Lingards account is discharged, and he has delivered the Levell & other implements belonging to the Company.
Mess^rs Winchcombe & Ellis went to M^r Stephens's at Leighterton, but not see him, being not at home; they are desired to waite on him next Monday, to pay him £100 in further part of the purchase of his Land, and to Settle other matters with him.
M^r Grazebrook has drawn a plan of Geo: Augustus Selwins Esq^r Lands describing the Track of the Canal where it intersects it, and the Quantity that will be wanting, and given M^r Turner the same to communicate with M^r Harris.
The Lime Stones are fresh piling, and will soon be finished. Ordered that a Kiln of the worst part of s^d Stones be burnt as soon as possible by way of a trial, and if they are not approved, to use the s^d Stone for other purposes.
M^r Rogers will give in his answer in regard to the Ash poles by the next Meeting.
M^r Grazebrook has sent the new Articles to M^r R^d Aldridge and Docter Sandfords Assent for the sale of M^r Phillips's Land, for Miss Browns Assent but no answer Yet Received.
Ordered that M^r Grazebrook do pay M^rs White the Rent for the Land occupied by the Canal Banks, Towing path & Coal Wharf up to Xmas next. Mess^rs Winchcombe & Hollings be desired to attend at the same time to settle with her.
M^r Grazebrook has wrote to M^r Ruddall desiring him to settle the account of his Lands, that we may enter upon it.
An enquiry has been made of Bricks that may be purchased at Frampton Platt. M^r Tho^s Davis has about 150,000 very good which he offers at 11/6 per Thousand in place; M^r Barnard offers a Quantity at 12/ per Thousand.
Ordered that M^r Bough do Contract with the Brickmakers at Frampton for all he can procure on the best terms he can, and also to procure a Quantity of good Lime Stone.
M^r Winchcombe has apply'd to Rich^d Wall for his Quarry on Rodborough hill, which he offers to the Company for one Year at £1:1.
M^r B: Pashley attended with his proposals; deffered the Consideration of it till the Account is settled with his Father Jn^o Pashley, who is desired to attend our next Meeting for that purpose.
Ordered that M^r Gleaves do immediately put in a Stank at the Top and Bottom of the Stonehouse Levell, in order to fill that Pond that the puddling may be finished.
Ordered that our Clerk do pay Edmund Phillips Esq^r for the Land lately occupied by Farmer Coaly take for the Canal & Towing path, with a small strip on the upper side of the Canal ~~ also part of one Ridge in West field.
Ordered that our Clerk do pay Mess^rs Cook & Hawker the sum of … in part of the purchase of Land lately the property of M^r R^d Cook, also that Henry Wyatt Esq^r be paid the sum of … in part of the purchase of his Land.
Ordered that M^r Wathen be desired to waite on M^rs James for a power to enter on her Lands.
Ordered that M^r Beswick do sett some Hands immediately to raise the Lower end of the Island, and the Ground opposite the s^d Island, upon the Levell of Westfield Lock.
Ordered that M^r B: Pashley do immediately make the Valve at the Swivell Bridge near M^r Eycotts.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of Four hundred pounds.
