Summary

The weir for removing water from the Stonehouse level to be made on the upper side of Ryeford Bridge.
The stays of the swivel bridges are to be repaired.
The road leading from the Turnpike to Nasstend be repaired as soon as the weir is made for diverting the water to a different course.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 5^th of April 1781
Present: Joseph Wathen, Thomas Baylis, John Hollings, John Allaway, Fream Arundel, Ben^m Grazebrook.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Ordered that M^r B: Grazebrook be desired to Stake out the Land of M^r John Butchers as far as was Setteled by the Committee this day and that the same be measured, and also that our Clerk do desire M^r Butcher to attend the next meeting of the Committee.
Continued the order relative to the Wall for enclosing the Wharf at Wallbridge.
M^r Halliday has not yet attended the Committee.
Ordered that M^r Hallidays Land be measured as far as the Drain at the foot of the Bank.
M^r Merrett has not yet finished the Plan of the Canal.
M^r W^m King hath not yet attended the Committee.
Continuted the Order relative to the Wear for taking the Water from the Stonehouse Levell. The said Wear to be made on the upper side of Ryford Bridge.
Ordered that the Stays at the Swivell Bridges be repaired in order to prevent their going back too farr.
Ordered that the bit of Land on the lower side of the Bridge at Ryford be lett, and that M^r Keck do have the refuse of the same.
Ordered that our Clerk do apply to M^r Chambers to enquire if he will Rent the Island at Easton and Report the same at the next Meeting of the Committee.
Ordered that the Rev^d M^r Selwin be paid Tythe for the Land in the Canal and Towing Path thro' the several Parishes belonging to him agreeable to the Contract entered into with M^r W^m King at the time of his being Leasee of the same.
Ordered that the Road leading from the Turnpike Road to Nesstend be repaired as soon as the wear is made for diverting the water a different Course.
Ordered that M^R Samuel Mannning be desired to come and Value some of the work done by Edward Keene.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 12^th Instant at Ten o'Clock in the forenoon at the Swan Inn in Stroud.
