Summary

No proper person being found to take over as lock keeper at Framilode, John Pashley is to take care of the locks for the time being.
A Petition in favour of the new Bill sent from London requesting that it might be signed by the inhabitants of Stroud and it’s environs. Also, that the Proprietors of the Stroud canal send a petition with the Seal affixed.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Monday the 17^th of February 1783
Present: Joseph Wathen, Thomas Baylis, James Dallaway, Nathaniel Jones, Fream Arundell, John Allaway, Nathaniel Winchcombe, Thomas White.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r James's Business is not yet settled.
No Letter Rece'd from M^r Cambridge respecting the Rien DItches at Whitmister.
Our Clerk Reported that he hath not found any Person proper to succeed the late Lock keeper at Framiload, but John Pashley takes care of the same at present.
Mess^r Colborne & Hollings set out for London on Friday last in order to attend during the passing of the new Bill in Parliament.
Rece'd a Letter from M^r James Perry in London enclosing a Petition in favor of the new Bill, requesting that it may be signed by the Inhabitants of the Town and Neighbourhood of Stroud; he likewise desired that a Petition of the same purport may be sent from the Proprietors of the Stroud Canal under their Common Seal. Ordered that a Petition be sent to Mess^rs Colborne & Hollings to be made use off at their discretion. And the Seal of the Compnay is now Affix'd to the same for that purpose.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Thursday the 27^th of March next at five o'Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
