Summary

Mr Jenning's expenses to be deducted from interest due next Lady Day.
Messrs Baylis and Grazebrook had met Mr Organ on Mr Cambridge's land and, on condition that the flood gates at Whitminster Mill are drawn at all flood times by the tenant occupying the mill, fixed with Mr Organ on behalf of Mr Cambridge, that the rien ditch, called Thatcher's Ditch, may run into canal for one year by way of trial, Company making a catch pool to receive the mud. Occupier of land to clear same every year. If any impediment happens to canal in consequence, same to be stopped and allowed to run into canal no more. Proprietor of land may at own expense stop weir at Spencehill and make covered weir through lower side of Kemmet's Orchard into Severn, weir having valve on lid to prevent Severn water flowing into canal.
Advertisement of General Meeting for 9 January in Gloucester Journal to have postscript that gates on towing path will be locked on 1st January to prevent all persons from travelling on path except for navigation on canal and that rents are due before that day.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 18^th of Decem. 1783
Present: Joseph Wathen, Nathaniel Winchcombe, John Hollings, Nathaniel Jones, James Dallaway, Ben^n Grazebrook, John Allaway, Thomas Baylis.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r James's Business is not yet settled.
Our Clerk Reported that he has applied to M^r Jennings, and he agree'd that the expences should be deducted out of the Interest due to him at Lady Day next.
Reported by Mess^rs Baylis & Grazebrook that they met M^r Organ upon the Land of M^r Cabridges, agreeable to appointment at the last Meeting, and fix'd with M^r Organ on behalf of M^r Cambridge (upon Condition that the Flood Gates at Whitmister Mill are drawn at all Flood times by the Tennant occupying the said Mill) that the Rien Ditch call'd Thatchers Ditch may run into the Canal for one Year by way of trial, the Company making a Catch Pool to receive the Mud, and the Occupier of the Land to clear the same once every year, And in case any impediment should happen to the Canal in consequence, that the same shall be then stopped and suffered to run into the Canal no more. And they further agree'd that the Proprietors of the Lands may at their own expense stop the Wear at Spencehill and make a covered Wear thro' the lower side of Kemmetts Orchard into the Severn, the said Wear have a Valve or Lid to prevent the Severn water flowing into the Canal.
Ordered that a General Meeting of Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation be advertised in the next Glocester Journal to be held at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 8^th of January next at Ten o'Clock in the forenoon upon special Business and that circular Letters be wrote to all the Proprietors residing out of the County requesting their attendance. ~~ Also that a Postcrip be added to the same advertisement, giving Notice that the Gates of the Towing Path will be locked on Wednesday the 1^st of January next, in order to prevent all Persons from travelling on the said Path except for the purpose of Navigating upon the Canal ~~ likewise that all Persons who are in arrear to the Company for Rent, are desired to pay the same on or before the Day of the said Meeting.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 8^th January next at Ten o'Clock in the forenoon at the George Inn at Stroud.
