Proposals from Wm Franklin and John Gubbins for building wall at Wallbridge. Mr Franklin's accepted.
Edward Keane to make pair of gates (with good hart of oak) for the wharf.
Samuel Hodges fined £5, mitigated to 5 shillings, for fishing in canal.
Clerk to find expense of a wood grate to prevent fish going up ditch at Stonehouse.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held by adjournment at the George Inn at Stroud on Wednesday the 27^th of July 1785
Present: Joseph Wathen, Thomas Baylis, John Hollings, John Allaway, Nathaniel Winchcombe, Nathaniel Jones, James Dallaway.

Our Clerk Reported that he has met M^r White, who has executed the Conveyance of the Corner piece of Land at Stonehouse Cross.
John King having Quited the House at Walbridge, Ordered that the 2^s per Week allow'd hom for his Licence be paid him in a Gross Sum.
Rece'd proposals from W^m Franklin & also from Jn^o Gubbins for Building a Wall to enclose the Wharf at Walbridge, M^r Franklins proposasl being the most reasonable are accepted. Ordered that the same be compleated on or before the 10^th Day of October next conformable to the said Proposasl under the Penalty of Five Pounds.
Agree'd with Ew^d Keene to make a pair of Gates (with good hart of Oak) for the Wharf according to the sizes given in for 1^s/3^d per foot.
Our Clerk Reported that he has wrote to M^r Smith respecting his removing the Lime Kilns at Walbridge, but has Rece'd no answer. Ordered that our Clerk do waite on him for that purpose.
Our Clerk Reported that he has obtained a Warrant against Samuel Hodges for fishing in the Canal, for which he was convicted in the Penalty of five pounds and afterwards mitigated to the Sum of five Shillings, which he has paid.
Ordered that our Clerk do know the expence of making a Wood Grate to prevent the fish from going up the Ditch at Stonehouse & to Report the same at the next Meeting.
Adjourned this Meeting to Monday 10^th October next at five O'Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn at Stroud.
